Terms of service

These terms govern your use of the Auscentic website and your purchase of our products and workshops. By using our site or placing an order, you agree to them. Please read them carefully.

1. Who we are

This website (auscentic.com) is operated by Auscentic ("we", "us", "our"), a fragrance and home scent business based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

2. Our products

We sell handcrafted scented wax products — including wax sachets, floating wax, and wax melts — as well as related fragrance items and workshop experiences. Because our products are handmade in small batches, slight variations in colour, shape, texture, and scent strength are natural and are not defects. Product images are illustrative.

3. Safety & intended use

Our scented products are for home fragrance use only. They are not food, cosmetics for application to skin (unless expressly labelled as such), or toys, and must not be eaten. Please follow all guidance on the product and packaging:

• Use wax melts and floating wax only with a suitable, purpose-made warmer or over water as directed; never leave a flame unattended.
• Keep away from children, pets, and anything flammable.
• Fragrance products may contain allergens. If you have sensitivities, review the ingredient/allergen information or contact us before use.

You are responsible for using our products safely and as intended.

4. Orders & contract

When you place an order, you make an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we send you an order confirmation or dispatch your items. We may decline or cancel an order — for example if an item is out of stock, incorrectly priced, or we suspect fraud — and if we do, we'll refund any payment taken.

5. Pricing & payment

Prices are shown in [EUR] and, for consumers, include VAT/BTW where applicable. Delivery costs are shown before you complete checkout. We take reasonable care to price items correctly; if we discover a clear pricing error, we'll contact you before proceeding. Payment is processed securely by our third-party payment providers at the time of order.

6. Shipping & delivery

We ship to the destinations and within the timeframes shown at checkout. Delivery estimates are indicative, not guaranteed. Risk of loss passes to you when the goods are delivered to you or your nominated carrier. For orders shipped outside the EU, you may be responsible for import duties or taxes.

7. Returns, refunds & right of withdrawal

Consumers in the EU have a statutory right of withdrawal and other rights. How returns, refunds, and cancellations work — including exceptions for custom, personalised, and unsealed hygiene items, and the terms for workshops — is set out in our Refund & Returns Policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Workshops

Workshop bookings are for a specific date and place. By booking, you agree to arrive on time, follow our safety instructions, and behave respectfully toward staff and other guests. We may refuse participation or remove anyone acting unsafely, without refund. Cancellation and rescheduling terms are set out in our Refund & Returns Policy.

9. Intellectual property

All content on this site — including text, images, logos, the "Auscentic" name, product designs, and scent names — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. You may not copy, reproduce, or use it commercially without our written permission.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to use our site unlawfully, to interfere with its operation or security, or to submit false information. You are responsible for keeping any account details confidential.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for misuse of our products contrary to our safety guidance.

12. Privacy

We handle your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy, in accordance with the GDPR.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it. We'll post the current version here with an updated date.

14. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. As a consumer, you also benefit from the mandatory protections of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts. EU consumers can also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
